The Story.

Healing Sparked Curiosity

As I healed from my eating disorder, I became deeply curious about how it had developed in the first place.

Curiosity Led to Understanding

I began studying the psychology of eating behavior. I wanted to understand the cultural pressures, behavioral patterns, and risk factors that had shaped my relationship with food and body. As I explored, I began to see how all the pieces connected.

Understanding Led to a Desire to Help Others

While I was a graduate student at UCLA, I launched the first version of Sparking The Convo on Instagram, wanting to be a resource for people struggling with their relationships with food and body that “was something in between a friend and a therapist.” I held my first presentations on Zoom with my close friends & family making up the majority of the audience.

Sharing My Story Made An Impact

In 2023, I was invited by the therapist who helped me recover from the eating disorder to co-present to UCLA student-athletes.

Dr. Melinda Kirschner provided the clinical expertise, while I brought the real-life perspective of what an eating disorder can look like behind the scenes.

Our presentations sparked open conversations & empowered student-athletes to ask for help.

Building a Nutrition Background

In 2024, I went back to school to earn my Master’s of Science in Nutrition at Cal Poly SLO. I knew that if I wanted to help people build healthy relationships with food and body, I would need a strong foundation in nutrition.

Vision Becomes Reality

In January 2026, I officially turned my vision into reality. Sparking The Convo LLC is born.

Sparking The Convo exists to spark the open conversations Lindsey wished she had earlier — the ones that blend education with empathy & compassion.
